This week, the Smiths Station Animal Hospital in Alabama posted a picture of a jar of chocolate called ‘Goodbye Kisses.’
The picture included a caption, “This jar is reserved for our euthanasia appointments because no dog should go to heaven without tasting chocolate.”
The heart-tugging Facebook post has been shared thousands of times.
Staff members told social media that they were blown away by the positive response.
Dr. Nicole Namie from the animal hospital said that although chocolate is poisonous to dogs, she feels the suffering animals deserve something special before they pass.
