According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, an Oak Hill woman was arrested for animal cruelty after she allegedly threw a cat inside a crate into the Intracoastal waterway.
When deputies arrived, Christa Thistle demanded to be taken to jail to post bond so she could then kill her ex-boyfriend.
Investigators said that Thistle and her unnamed boyfriend had recently broken up and got into a fight because he was not moving his belongings fast enough out of the RV they used to share.
Thistle then took it upon herself to start ‘helping’ move his stuff but knocked over food that was being cooked in the process. In anger, she picked up Stanley the Cat’s crate then threw it into the river. The boyfriend then jumped into the river to rescue the cat.

Deputies said the cat, Stanley, was rescued and is OK.
When the police officer arrived, Stanley was still shivering and soaking wet. Thistle then denied that the incident even happened.
Officials say Thistle denied that she threw Stanley into the river.
Thistle was then taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail, where she remained in custody Friday morning with no bond pending her first appearance before a judge.
