Pennsylvania mom Aisha Nieves got the surprise of her life while browsing through a list of adoptable dogs at her local humane society’s website.

It was Kovu, her former dog, who she lost two years prior.

Kovu, a pitbull-rottweiler mix, escaped through a hole in Nieves’ fence in June 2019.

The dog, who was assumed a stray, was picked up and taken to the Lehigh County Humane Society (LCHS) and was rechristened “Ash,” according to community engagement manager Julie Huber.

By the time Nieves got to the animal shelter, Kovu had already been rehomed, according to CNN.
CNN에 따르면 Nieves가 동물 보호소에 도착했을 때 Kovu는 이미 집으로 옮겨진 상태였습니다.
Two years later, the family that adopted the dog was facing eviction due to the coronavirus pandemic and were forced to return Kovu back to the humane society.
2년 후, 개를 입양한 가족은 코로나바이러스 전염병으로 인해 퇴거 위기에 처했고 Kovu를 인도적인 사회로 돌려보낼 수 밖에 없었습니다.
That’s when Nieves saw the pup’s familiar face on the website, recognized the small scar over his right eye, and knew right away that that was her pet.
그 때 Nieves는 웹사이트에서 강아지의 낯익은 얼굴을 보고 오른쪽 눈의 작은 흉터를 알아보았고 그것이 그녀의 애완 동물이라는 것을 바로 알았습니다.
Happy ending aside, The LCHS encourages all pet owners to microchip, license, or tag their pets so they can easily be returned to them in case they get lost.
